who is lucas deely...
and why is he called "lucas of maine"
I am a musician and multimedia creative that was born and raised in the small tourist town of Kennebunk, Maine. Now living in Chicago, I adopted the "Lucas of Maine" moniker to embrace my roots as I continue to create in new environments.
I like to think my professional career started at 14, when I was promoted from Housekeeper to Front Desk Agent at The Kennebunker, a locally-owned cottage-style motel in my hometown. I became a jack-of-all-trades during my high school summers, eventually working as a pizza cook, breakfast chef, cashier, server, barista, ice cream scooper, retail associate, and even my neighborhood's local pest controller.
All this time, I was constantly taking in music from my family of Deadhead parents and 3 older siblings who played the likes of the Backstreet Boys, Alanis Morissette, and Modest Mouse. I eventually created my own taste, but truthfully, my inspiration for music comes from the Limewire library of songs on the old computer in my parents basement. Fast forward to 2016, and I'm sitting at my desk in my college dorm room listening to my first album I made all by myself. For the first time, I felt like I had found a way to tell my own story.
Since then, I've spent my life telling stories in every medium I can imagine, and maybe I can help tell yours too.
